Customers immediately know they are in the right place. Good building lettering also catches the eye of passers-by: effective advertising that makes your business's location unmistakable.

Acrylox is a popular choice for building lettering

Acrylox is a popular material for building lettering: strong, colourfast and maintenance-free. The letters are routed from cast acrylic sheets 8, 19 or 30 millimetres thick and are available in a wide range of RAL colours. Alongside standard Acrylox lettering, there are letters routed from translucent material and indirectly illuminated Acrylox Backlit letters. Translucent Acrylox lettering has high light transmission (40%), allowing a 3D effect to be created. Backlit letters have a groove at the rear containing splash-resistant LED lighting. The light shines from the back to create indirectly illuminated signage.

Eye-catching advertising with composite panel letters

Routed letters made from composite panels are another attractive option for eye-catching building signage. This material is 3 millimetres thick, with a black polyethylene core and a 0.3 mm coated aluminium outer layer on each side. It is an ideal choice for large building letters because it is lightweight and has low thermal expansion.

Beautiful stainless steel building lettering

For a truly luxurious appearance, choose stainless steel letters. Modern laser-cutting techniques create the shape you want, with a choice of brushed or mirrored finishes. Brushed stainless steel is available in silver and three thicknesses (2/3/5 mm). The mirrored material comes in gold, silver and bronze. The gold and bronze versions are 1 millimetre thick, while silver is available in 1.5 or 2 millimetres. For a thicker letter, stainless steel can be bonded to Acrylox. This also gives you more colour options for the brushed material: when bonded to Acrylox, gold and bronze letters are available as well as the mirrored versions.

Built-up letters for 3D signage

Alongside the 'flat' building lettering described above, there are built-up letters. As the name suggests, these consist of an aluminium box with a face. Whereas routed signage can form a single piece, each built-up letter is an individual component.

Illuminated or non-illuminated building lettering

As well as materials and finishes, there is another choice to consider: do you want lettering with or without illumination? If you choose illuminated lettering, how should the light shine? As mentioned earlier, you can choose Acrylox lettering with LED backlighting. LEDs on the rear illuminate the letters from behind. Acrylox lettering without built-in LEDs can also be lit, using spotlights or ground-mounted floodlighting.

Acrylox building lettering can therefore be made with lighting. Built-up letters are the real heavyweights of illuminated signage. As explained, they consist of an aluminium box with a face; the hollow interior can house LED lighting. There are 5 options in total, of which 2 are indirectly illuminated and 3 directly illuminated.

Include the interior too

While arranging lettering for your building, why not add letters inside too? The lettering options described above can also present your business or organisation effectively to visitors indoors.

All the types of building lettering mentioned are also suitable indoors for highlighting your business or organisation and creating a particular atmosphere. When considering lettering for the interior, there is even one additional option.

For interiors, we also offer attractive letters made from foamed PVC. Their main advantage is their very low weight, which makes them easy to install. You can even paint them in your chosen colour with emulsion paint. These letters are available in 3 thicknesses: 5 mm, 10 mm and 19 mm.

Subtle, indirectly illuminated building lettering

One option is indirectly illuminated lettering, where the light shines towards the rear. These letters must be fitted on stand-offs so the light can shine behind them. There is also a deluxe version of this profile with a translucent back, allowing the letters to be mounted either directly on the facade or on stand-offs. The translucent layer lets light shine not only backwards but also partly sideways, creating a halo around the letters.
