Choosing the right fabric display frame
Explore the options available for fabric display frames.
A silicone-edge fabric frame is a highly versatile product that can be adapted entirely to your preferences. Made from aluminium, it is also known as a fabric display frame and provides a robust way to present your graphics or advertising.
One major advantage of a fabric display frame is how easily you can change the print. Update it each season or use the frame to highlight new promotions. Its clever tensioning system makes swapping the fabric graphics very straightforward. Interchangeable fabric graphics therefore offer many benefits for communicating your message. There is also plenty of choice in the frame itself: mount it on a wall or ceiling, or choose a freestanding frame. Here is an overview of the various options.
Benefits of fabric display frames
- Easy-to-change fabric
- An attractive promotional tool
- Large sizes available
- Wide range of materials
- Washable fabric
Illuminated or non-illuminated fabric frame?
The first important choice is whether to choose a non-illuminated or illuminated fabric frame. Both show your message to great effect, but produce very different results. If you want to highlight particular parts of a design, an illuminated frame is an attractive solution. Finished with Samba Backlit fabric, it brings your graphics to life. An illuminated frame is always 60 millimetres deep and available in silver, black or white. The power cable can be positioned in any of the four corners to suit the power supply, avoiding a cable on the wrong side of the socket. Prefer a non-illuminated frame? Your images will still look excellent, and there are more options to choose from. The frame can be tailored even more closely to your requirements, with wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted or freestanding versions with floor feet.
Wall-mounted fabric frames
Like illuminated frames, wall-mounted fabric frames come in three colours: silver, black or white. Choose the colour that best complements your design to complete the look.
You can also choose how to hang the frame. Fix it directly to the wall or use a wall hanger. The advantage of a hanger is that you can easily swap it for another frame. If you are not yet certain about the arrangement, or simply enjoy changing your interior, a frame with a wall hanger is an ideal solution.
For frames fixed directly to the wall, you can also choose the depth: 19 or 27 millimetres. A frame suspended from a wall hanger is always 27 mm deep.
Ceiling-mounted fabric frames
Prefer a fabric frame on the ceiling? That is possible too, with several options. Would you like the frame mounted flat against the ceiling or hanging down from it?
Fabric frames mounted flat against the ceiling are used in dental practices and beauty salons, for example. A busy picture gives clients something to look at during treatment, while an attractive nature print helps them feel at ease. You can also choose a frame that hangs down like a sign. These suspended frames work well on exhibition stands or in displays, catching visitors' attention as they walk underneath.
A frame fitted flat against the ceiling is 27 millimetres deep. A suspended frame offers more options, including single- or double-sided printed fabric. Single-sided frames are available in depths of 27, 44 and 80 millimetres; double-sided prints require a deeper frame of 44 or 80 mm.
The two options give a space very different looks, depending on how you want to use the frame. Like wall-mounted frames, they are available in silver, white and black.
Freestanding fabric frames

Would you like to move your frame around, or use it as a room divider? A freestanding fabric frame is a perfect choice. One advantage is the option of a double-sided print, allowing you to divide a room into smaller spaces with a completely different atmosphere on each side. Choose a nature print on one side and an eye-catching pop-art design on the other, for example.
Freestanding frames are always supplied with feet to keep them stable and help prevent tipping. Both single- and double-sided frames are available in depths of 44 and 80 millimetres. Like the other options, they come in silver, white and black.

Blackback Soft and XL fabric graphics

Need to prevent any sunlight or artificial light from passing through your fabric graphic? Choose Blackback material. As the name suggests, this polyester has a black blockout reverse (PU coating) that blocks light. The front has a fine, matt texture with a natural appearance. Blackback Soft (260 g/m²) is dye-sublimation printed and can be printed in one piece up to 310 centimetres wide. For a larger light-blocking graphic, choose Blackback XL (260 g/m²), which is UV printed with a maximum print width of 496 centimetres. As well as fabric frames, Blackback can be used in fabric lightboxes where light must be blocked on one side.
Fire-retardant Theater fabric graphics for indoor and outdoor use
Finally, there is Theater fabric (290 g/m²). This 100% polyester fabric has an elegant, matt appearance and is opaque thanks to its black blockout middle layer. Unlike Blackback fabrics, its reverse is white. This dense, thick material is fire-retardant and suitable for indoor and outdoor use in public spaces.
Extra stabilisers are often used in XL fabric frames, but they should not show through the print. Theater fabric avoids this: the black blockout middle layer prevents the stabilisers from being visible on the printed side.
