Sandblast-effect film and frosted glass film describe the appearance of a matt film applied to glass. The glass itself is not sandblasted: the finish is created by applying film.
We offer two finishes in this range: Dusted and Crystal. Both can be cut to size, supplied with cut-out logos or names, and printed. Choose the finish for its appearance; the design determines where the film goes and where the glass stays clear.

Dusted
Dusted gives glass a soft, matt, milky appearance. For a calm surface, a privacy band or a design with logos and names. It can be cut and printed.

Crystal
Crystal has a sparkle within the film. Light brings out this finish differently from Dusted. It can also be cut to size and printed.

A logo can be made from film applied to the glass, or become a clear cut-out in a frosted surface. Prefer colour or an image? Dusted and Crystal can also be printed.

The names and logo are cut out of the frosted privacy band. The surrounding film remains in place, while the lettering and logo allow a clear view through the glass.

This geometric pattern is printed on the film. Dusted and Crystal can also be printed with your logo, names, colours, illustrations or photographs.

Is sandblast-effect film the same as frosted glass film?
Yes, these names describe the same family of decorative privacy films. At BlinkOut, you choose Dusted or Crystal within this range. They are not two separate product families.
What is the difference between Dusted and Crystal?
Dusted has a milky-glass appearance. Crystal has a sparkle within the material. We recommend comparing the finishes using a material sample.
What do positive and reverse cutting mean?
With a positive cut, letters or shapes remain as film on the glass. With a reverse cut, they are cut out of a larger area of film. These cut-outs are clear and allow a view through the glass.
Can Dusted and Crystal be printed?
Yes, both finishes can be printed. We discuss the image, colours, any lettering and how the artwork is divided across the window panes.
Does the whole window need film?
No. A privacy band, individual letters or a pattern are also possible. We match the height, layout and clear areas to the sightlines in your space.
Can anything still be visible behind the film?
Visibility depends on the finish, lighting and position in relation to the glass. Clear cut-outs continue to allow a view. We assess your privacy requirements together with an appropriate material sample.
