A clear filter for sunlight

UV-reducing film. Clear views, less UV.

Clothing in a shop window, a sofa beside the glass or a timber floor: prolonged sunlight can affect colours. Clear UV-reducing film filters a large proportion of ultraviolet radiation while preserving the view and the bright character of your space.

Clear views · Less UV exposure · Bespoke advice and installation

Colour deserves attention

Protect what stands in the light every day.

A UV filter in the film limits the ultraviolet radiation transmitted through treated glazing. Depending on the chosen product, UV rejection can reach around 99%. We check the technical data for your glazing and intended application.

Film can have a clear, almost invisible appearance. Transparent does not mean that exactly 100% of visible light is transmitted. UV, visible light and heat are different parts of sunlight, each calling for an appropriate material choice.

Would you also like less heat, uncomfortable light or unwanted views? Then we consider more than a clear UV filter.

Less glare on screens

Bright visible light can interfere with a television, phone or laptop. Clear UV film does not automatically reduce this glare. Appropriate solar-control or tinted film can reduce light and solar heat alongside UV exposure.

Privacy while keeping daylight

Frosted or reflective films can combine UV reduction with screening. Frosted glass limits the view; reflective privacy depends on the contrast between indoor and outdoor lighting.

Additional glass protection

Some safety films offer UV reduction alongside fragment retention. A suitable anti-graffiti layer may also be considered on vulnerable surfaces. We select for the complete function and check whether the combination is appropriate.

A UV filter helps slow fading.

UV is an important factor, but it does not fully explain colour change. Visible light, heat, dyes and the material itself also contribute. UV-reducing film cannot reverse existing fading or completely stop ageing.

Questions about UV-reducing window film

Is UV-reducing film completely transparent?

Clear versions can be almost invisible on the glazing. Every film has its own light transmission, reflection and colour properties. We compare these against your requirements.

Does it prevent all fading?

No. A UV filter can limit the UV contribution to fading, but visible light, heat and material ageing still have an effect. It does not reverse existing discolouration.

Will clear UV film stop sunlight interfering with my screen?

Not automatically. Glare is mainly caused by visible light. If this is your main concern, we discuss a film with suitable glare reduction or additional solar shading.

Can it be used in a hospital?

UV-reducing film can be an option for healthcare buildings. Glazing, location, cleaning procedures and any technical project requirements determine suitability. We do not make a general medical protection claim.

Can film be installed on insulating glazing?

We assess the particular glass construction and conditions, including existing coatings and shading. Not every film is suitable for every insulating glass unit.
