Sustainable outdoor signage

Visible in motion.

At an entrance, along a road or at an event, flags give your brand room to be seen. We choose material to suit its movement and setting. A freely flying flag needs a different fabric from a tensioned building banner.

Tensioned building banners

For a banner tensioned between projecting supports, we select a suitable PVC-free banner fabric. This differs from a freely flying vertical flag.

Materials & specification

A considered choice for your application.

Recycled PET makes use of existing plastic. CiCLO follows a different material route with a modified polyester fibre. PVC-free polyester fabrics are available for tensioned banners. Each has its own properties, explained separately.

Flag textiles
Flag PET made from recycled polyester, and Flag CiCLO as a separate polyester specification.
Print & finishing
Full colour, hems, tape, clips or sleeves to suit the flag shape and system.
Outdoor use
A flag is a moving textile product. Wind, contact with obstacles and sunlight all affect service life.

Materials & specification

Explore the materials.

Choose by raw material, appearance and service life. The properties below refer to the specified material.

Positive material properties at a glance. Each percentage relates to the named substrate or material layer.

Flag PET: recycled flag textile

Composition
Polyester flag fabric made from recycled PET bottles.
Suitable use
For pole flags, building flags and vertical banner flags, depending on finishing and availability.

Impact

Substrate

Recycled polyester (rPET)

100% recycled materialOf the polyester fibre, before printing and finishing.

  • A new life for PET

PET bottles are processed into yarn for a new flag.

  • PVC-free textile

The fabric base is polyester without PVC.

  • Water-based printing

This flag specification is printed with water-based ink.

Flag CiCLO

Composition
Approximately 110 g/m² polyester flag textile incorporating CiCLO fibre technology.
Suitable use
For flying flags, beach flags and vertical banner flags with an open, air-permeable structure.

Impact

Substrate

Polyester with CiCLO technology

  • Modified polyester fibre

The technology is designed to promote polyester biodegradation under specific conditions. This is not a home-compostability claim.

  • Produced in Europe

The flag textile is produced in Germany.

  • Good care still matters

Its open structure suits outdoor use. Taking the flag indoors in strong winds helps extend its life.

PVC-free fabric for tensioned banners

Composition
Sturdy polyester banner fabric in place of a PVC banner.
Suitable use
For building banners and other tensioned graphics; fabric and sleeves are selected for the load.

Impact

Substrate

Polyester

  • PVC-free base

An alternative fabric composition for a tensioned advertising graphic.

  • Bespoke finishing

Sleeves, hems and eyelets suit the selected banner specification.

  • Replace the graphic

When the message changes, only the fabric needs replacing if the existing supports remain suitable.

From material selection to its next destination.

Design for future use

Avoid fixed dates if you want to use your flag again.

Protect against wear

Allow the flag to fly freely without rubbing against sharp parts. Bring it indoors in strong winds.

Replace selectively

Replace a worn flag while reusing a serviceable pole or support. Used fabric belongs in the agreed collection stream.

Frequently asked questions

Which sustainable flag materials are available?

Flag PET uses recycled polyester fibre. Flag CiCLO is a separate polyester specification with technology designed to promote biodegradation under specific conditions. We choose for application and current availability.

Is a vertical flag the same as a tensioned building banner?

No. A vertical flag hangs from a pole and can move. A building banner is tensioned between projecting supports and requires a different, suitable fabric.

Can I use my own logo and colours?

Yes. We create a design in your branding, considering translucency, the mirrored reverse and viewing distance.

Are sustainable beach flags possible?

Yes. We check which fabric is available for your chosen shape and specify suitable finishing. A serviceable existing base and pole can be reused.

How can I keep my flag looking good for longer?

Let it fly freely, avoid abrasive obstacles and bring it indoors in strong winds. Careful drying and storage help prepare it for reuse.

Is recycled flag fabric also PVC-free?

The Flag PET fabric base described here consists of recycled polyester without PVC. Finishing is specified separately for the product.

What happens to CiCLO flags after use?

We agree an appropriate collection route. The fibre technology is not a reason to leave fabric in the environment and does not automatically make a printed flag compostable.
