The story behind this project
Move façade signage to new premises
Luminaid relocated while its existing illuminated letters remained usable. Rear lighting would be less visible on the new building’s dark façade. BlinkOut adapted installation to reuse the lettering.
White Dibond outlines were made to match the letters. Mounted behind them with spacers, they provided a backing before the complete signage was installed and reconnected at the new location.
A background for the lighting effect
White outlines provide a visible background for light on the dark façade. Existing letters were adapted to the new surface rather than assuming full replacement.
Assess reuse individually
The case shows relocation does not automatically require new façade letters. Condition, lighting and fixing still need assessment. Send photographs of existing signage and the new façade for a proposal.
