Groenhuysen — de HUB: recognisable signage for meeting places

A shared identity for discovering, experiencing and smarter living

From the fixed HUB Studio to the mobile HUB Express, green graphics and clear signage give both meeting places a shared identity.

The story behind this project

A recognisable face for care innovation

Discovering, experiencing and smarter living are central to Groenhuysen's HUB. The initiative makes care technology tangible and invites people to try new possibilities for themselves. The fixed HUB Studio at Bovendonk in Roosendaal and the mobile HUB Express serve different purposes but share one recognisable identity.

BlinkOut translated the supplied design into graphics and signage for both units. Large green areas, pink and white shapes and clear logos turn the exterior into an invitation to look inside.

Two structures, one visual identity

A fixed unit and a trailer have different dimensions, doors, windows and surfaces. The graphics therefore needed a separate layout for each object. The design works around openings and uses the available wall space for colour, imagery and messaging.

Large lettering and information panels reinforce the entrance to the HUB Studio. The HUB Express carries the same style, combined with a large photographic image. This makes the mobile unit recognisable as part of the initiative when it visits another location.

Materials matched to the surface

Printable polymeric film with a gloss finish was specified for parts of the HUB Studio. On large film areas, an adhesive layer with air channels helps trapped air escape as the graphic is applied. Material selection and application must always suit the particular surface.

The profiled walls of a unit also require careful graphic planning. Lines, joints and surface relief affect the finished appearance. Developing the layout for the actual structure helps the colours and lettering read as one composition across separate surfaces.

An invitation to explore

The exterior signals that there is something to discover inside. The fixed Studio and mobile Express have different structures, connected by the same colours and graphic language. The photographs show both applications and the details around windows, doors and wall panels.
