IEO Transformatoren: a warm welcome with illuminated letters

Light, depth and brand identity in IEO's entrance hall

Halo-lit built-up letters and acrylic bring a distinctive sense of depth to IEO's timber entrance wall in Breda.

The story behind this project

An entrance that expresses the brand

In the entrance hall of IEO Transformatoren in Breda, a tall timber wall gives the brand a central position. BlinkOut delivered signage combining halo-lit built-up letters with acrylic. The green logo and the words 'Powering the world' form one recognisable composition.

Installation was coordinated with the architect and joiner. This made the signage part of the interior scheme, with attention to the wall layout, the positioning of the letters and access during installation.

Why halo lighting?

With halo-lit letters, light is directed backwards onto the surface behind them. A soft glow around the outline visually lifts each form away from the wall. The front remains clearly recognisable as a coloured letter, while the light adds depth.

At IEO, this effect works with the timber pattern. The warm wall and green branding remain visible, with a light contour providing emphasis. The surface and the distance behind the letters influence how the glow spreads.

Built-up letters and acrylic together

Combining illuminated elements with individual acrylic letters allows different parts of a logo to receive different emphasis. Acrylic can be precisely shaped into letters and symbols and provides a defined three-dimensional profile without illumination.

The detail photographs show the depth of the lettering and its distance from the wall. Seen from the side, the difference from a flat print becomes clear: the signage has volume, with an appearance that changes subtly with the viewing angle.

Coordinated with the timber wall

Before installation, we discussed which wall panel needed to remain accessible with the joiner. The relationship between the lettering and the panel divisions was also agreed in advance. These details bring the technical installation and the interior together.

The result gives the brand a natural place in the entrance hall. Considering illuminated lettering for a reception area or office? BlinkOut helps you choose the lighting effect, materials and arrangement to suit your interior.
