PayforPeople: a distinctive office with illuminated letters

Light, depth and glass graphics bring the office identity to life

Halo-lit lettering, glass logos and room names give PayforPeople’s Rotterdam office a recognisable interior identity.

The story behind this project

Making the office identity visible

For PayforPeople’s office on Westerlaan in Rotterdam, the brand identity was translated into signage throughout the interior. The logo takes a prominent position on a dark slatted wall, while glass graphics and room names carry the style further through the office.

BlinkOut developed the signage in coordination with the client and the supplied design. The project encompasses more than a single logo: light, individual letterforms and glass graphics bring the same identity to different surfaces.

A halo behind the lettering

The illuminated logo uses rear-lit built-up lettering. The light source sits inside the letter construction and points towards the wall behind it. This creates a halo around the shapes. The front retains its own colour and form, while the light separates the logo visually from the background.

The distance from the wall and the substrate influence the effect. On a slatted wall, the vertical texture gives the glow an additional rhythm. This combination of depth, light and background makes halo illumination an appealing option for an entrance or another prominent interior location.

Glass graphics and room names

Alongside the illuminated logo, the photographs show lettering on glass partitions and doors. These surfaces require a different approach: the graphics need to remain legible within the transparent architecture and fit between frames, glazing divisions and circulation routes. Position and scale matter as much as the logo itself.

Meeting-room names add a practical layer. Large, uncluttered typography gives each room its own identity while maintaining a consistent office style. Signage can therefore communicate the brand and help people identify the right space.

A coordinated office environment

Each application has its own character. The illuminated lettering highlights the brand, while glass graphics and room names carry its identity further through the workplace. The project photographs show this combination on the slatted wall, glazing and walls beside the rooms.

Bringing your identity into a new or refurbished office? BlinkOut can help choose between illuminated lettering, three-dimensional logos and glass graphics, considering the substrate, sightlines and purpose of each location.
