Theater De Kring: a fresh finish for the foyer bar
A warm wood-effect finish for the existing foyer bar.
A bar refurbishment at Theater De Kring in Roosendaal, using wood-effect interior film to refresh the existing worktops and panels.
The story behind this project
A bar that complements the welcome
The bar is a meeting point in the foyer of Theater De Kring in Roosendaal. Visitors gather here before a performance and return during the interval. A carefully finished bar contributes to that welcoming atmosphere.
We refreshed the existing bar with decorative interior film. The wood-effect counter adds warmth and contrasts with the dark front. The familiar bar stays in place while its surface finish changes.
A new finish on an existing piece
Interior wrapping gives a suitable existing surface a new decorative finish while retaining the underlying furniture. It offers a useful approach where the shape and layout still work but the appearance needs updating.
A counter needs more than an attractive flat surface. The wood effect also needs to follow the front edge and corners coherently. Its relationship with the existing panels helps the bar read as one piece of furniture.
Care around edges and curves
The bar has a curved shape and a continuous worktop. Surface preparation, careful application and a neat finish along the edges all matter when following that shape.
The warm counter and dark textured front balance each other. Together, they give the bar a clear presence without overwhelming the architecture of the foyer.
Refreshing the finish, retaining the structure
A different surface finish can bring existing hospitality furniture into line with the desired atmosphere. At De Kring, the wood effect connects the bar with the surrounding reception space.
