Materials & specification

Where is the sustainability benefit?

Producing a frame takes material and energy. Repeated use provides the benefit: a graphic change replaces only the fabric. Fabric selection then determines whether you avoid PVC, use recycled fibres or can arrange a textile return route.

Installation
Wall-mounted or freestanding, with fixings matched to the substrate.
Fabric
Silicone-edge textile or an eyeleted banner. Properties depend on the specification.
Care
Protect components during storage and clean fabric according to material instructions.

Materials & specification

The material makes the difference.

From recycled fibres to PVC-free fabrics: explore the properties that make these materials a considered choice.

Positive material properties at a glance. Each percentage relates to the named substrate or material layer.

Block-out fabric with 30% recycled feedstock

Composition
Blackback ReNew∞ is 100% polyester, with 30% from recycled cutting waste and old fabrics. White and black yarns block light without a PU coating.
Suitable use
For unlit textile frames where the supporting structure must not show through. We agree returns, collection and the contribution in advance.

  • Single-material substrate

One fibre type, without a coating or laminate of a different material.

  • Recycled content

30% of the fabric comes from cutting waste and previously used fabrics.

  • PVC-free

An alternative with no PVC in the fabric.

  • Water-based ink

The selected print option uses water-based ink.

  • Produced in Europe

The unprinted fabric is manufactured in Europe.

  • Renewable energy

The base material is manufactured using at least 40% renewable energy.

  • Designed for reuse

A replaceable fabric keeps the existing frame in use.

Lightweight PVC-free banner fabric

Composition
ProPES FR is 225 g/m² polyester without PVC, printed with water-based ink. It folds for transport and has a fire certificate.
Suitable use
For tubular frames in industrial halls and display spaces. With eyelets or a sleeve, subject to the chosen fire and installation requirements.

From material selection to its next destination.

Keep the frame and usable graphics

Use consistent sizes and store seasonal fabrics clean and dry. A recurring campaign can then reuse the same graphic.

Keep components removable

Match the fabric, silicone edge, eyelets and fixings. A damaged part can be replaced without renewing the whole system.

Arrange the material route in advance

Separate textiles, edging, metal and packaging where required. Technical recyclability does not guarantee local collection; we check current ReNew∞ return terms.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a reusable frame a considered choice?

You can display a new message while retaining a suitable frame. Replacing the fabric separately keeps the base in use for longer, offering flexibility for campaigns, seasonal graphics and updated branding.

Which fabrics contain recycled feedstock?

The Blackback ReNew version described is polyester with 30% recycled feedstock from cutting waste and used fabrics. It is PVC-free and has no PU coating. Its block-out construction is useful for a textile frame carrying a clear brand graphic.

Which PVC-free fabrics suit a tubular frame?

ProPES FR and Polymesh offer PVC-free polyester options. ProPES FR is a closed fabric, while Polymesh has an open mesh structure. We select the structure to suit your graphic and application.

What does monomaterial mean for these fabrics?

The material base of the polyester fabrics described consists of one fibre type. Blackback ReNew also has no PU coating. This provides a straightforward material construction; we discuss further processing for the chosen print and finish.

Can my existing frame be used again?

Often, yes. We assess the profile, internal dimensions and fixing method, whether silicone edging or eyelets. A compatible replacement fabric can give your existing frame a fresh image.

Can I create a custom design and change it later?

Yes. Consider photography, illustrations, campaigns and brand graphics. We size the fabric to suit the frame, allowing you to refresh the image later while keeping the usable base.

How do we limit material use with each change?

We match fabric dimensions, finishing and service life to the intended use. Keeping frames and replacing only the required graphic keeps components useful for longer. We also discuss careful removal and storage of suitable fabrics.
